PM Narendra Modi Digitally Launches The Renovation Of 554 Railway Stations

Mumbai– Prime Minister Narendra Modi has digitally launched the renovation of 554 railway stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This significant initiative is aimed at transforming the face of Indian Railways and enhancing passenger experience.

The Prime Minister inaugurated or dedicated the redevelopment project to the nation through digital mode. The project, which is expected to cost around Rs 41,000 crore, is a part of the government’s commitment to provide world-class facilities to railway passengers.

In addition to the station redevelopment, the Prime Minister also inaugurated or laid the foundation stone for 1585 road over bridges as well as underpasses. These infrastructure projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity and ease of travel for millions of commuters across the country.

The inauguration ceremony was preceded by a programme organized by the Central Railway at Byculla Railway Station in Mumbai. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Guardian Minister of Mumbai Deepak Kesarkar, and General Manager of Central Railway Ram Karan Yadav were among the dignitaries present at the event.

The Governor also presented certificates to the winners of Drawing and Essay writing competitions, highlighting the importance of community engagement in the development process.

The renovation of these railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme marks a significant step towards the modernization of Indian Railways. It is expected to not only enhance the travel experience of passengers but also boost the overall infrastructure of the country.
